At Home Ensemble
At Home Ensemble consisting of two pieces: A) Bodysuit of bright green knitted silk jersey with over-length sleeves and legs. Center back lapped zipper closure from neckline to lower back, with one hook-and-eye closure at top of zipper. Designer's label at inside left back, just beside zipper: "Rudi Gernreich". B) Tunic/tabard formed of two long rectangular panels of black silk with white printed polka dots all over. Boat neckline with thin "straps" simulated at shoulders where panels meet. The panels are sewn at left side for 17 cm. below arm and open the rest of the length. On right side are three snaps and one hook-and-eye closure. Left shoulder sewn shut, right with one hook-and-eye closure. The panels are lined in shocking pink silk. Designer's label at front inside, just below neckline: "Rudi Gernreich" Retailer's label at back inside, just below neckline: "Neiman-Marcus / Trophy Room"
Aviator's Cap Hat
Hat in the form of a white leather Aviator's Cap. The domed ovoid crown is made in six triangular sections, and has straps which extend down and buckle under the chin with two oval gilt metal links. The cap is lined with black satin, and has an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Designer's label: "Adolfo / New York Paris" Retailer's Label: "Amen Wardy / El Paso Texas"
[Baptistry Doors]
Photograph of the Baptistry of St. John Doors (Gates of Paradise) in Florence, Italy. In the foreground, pigeons are scattered across the Piazza del Duomo in front of the Baptistry of St. John. A group of people stand in front of the gilded bronze doors. The doors are visible as well as the three statues above the doors depicting the Baptism of Christ. The doors were created by Lorenzo Ghiberti.
