Toque

Description: Toque of magenta pink velour. Designed as an over-sized pillbox, the hat has a cylindrical crown, flattened at top, embellished at top with magenta beading in a stylized flower-head design, and with scalloped band of beading around the sides of the crown. Below the crown is a thin "inner band" of same velour, slightly inset from crown. The hat is lined in red fabric, and has an inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband laid over an off-white grosgrain band. Retailer's label inside: "Neiman-Marcus".

Description: Toque hat of sienna brown beaver fur felt. Black sequins, copper colored sequins, and copper colored beads sewn in floral pattern as trim on front and sides on the lower half of the crown. Unlined, with an inner hatband of sienna brown grosgrain ribbon at inside base of crown. Label sewn at inside back: "Jan Leslie / Custom Design" Label sewn at inside back: "The Halle Bros. Co." Toque

Description: Toque hat covered in appliqued velvet leaves. The cloche-style hat has a domed crown completely covered with vari-colored velvet leaves/blossoms in shades of pink, red, green, gold, fuchsia, brown, purple, etc. At base of crown is tied a fuchsia velvet ribbon with bow with ribbons trailing at right. Slight brim below ribbon, which extends downwards. The hat is lined in pink/fuchsia lace, and has an inner purple/mauve grosgrain ribbon hatband inside base of crown. Sewn into inner ribbon hatband is retailer's label: "Stern and Mann / Millinery. Received with a period white-painted wooden hat-stand.

Toque

Description: Toque of burnt ocher/light brown wool(?). The cylindrical crown is higher in front, with sides slanting down to back. The top of the crown is domed, but slightly sunken, and ornamented with top-stitching lines radiating from the back center of the top. The sides of the crown have similar horizontal top-stitching. The hat has a dark brown leather band at lower edge, almost a tiny visor in front, which extends inside the sides of crown and emerges in back to form a bow. The hat is lined in medium brown satin, and has an inner brown grosgrain ribbon hatband.. Retailer's label: "Neiman-Marcus / Salon"

Description: Toque of black satin. Pillbox-like hat has cylindrical crown, slightly domed, and is completely covered in black satin. At front, near base of crown, is a black satin bow from which rises a spray of black feathers. Interior of crown fully lined in black satin, with a black grosgrain ribbon band at base of crown. Sewn to the inner ribbon band is a plastic comb to secure the hat to the head of the wearer. No labels.

Trilby Hat

Description: Trilby hat of black velvet. Designed with a sculpted crown, more vertical at back and sloping at front and sides, with slight dome at top, the hat has a narrow brim at front angled somewhat downwards, while at sides and back the brim curves upwards sharply. Top-stitching accents running up center front of hat, along top, along back facing of brim, and along edge of brim. Underside of brim is faced in same velvet, while the crown is unlined. Inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. No labels.

Wedding Kimono

Description: Woman's uchikake kimono of off-white damask silk with background pattern of stylized cranes in diamond frames. The full-length kimono has long sleeves, and is embellished with gold and silver couched embroidery throughout of large leaf forms on upper part of garment, and of geometric shapes on lower part. The kimono has a rolled and padded hem, which reveals the red silk lining.
