Silk robe

Description: Robe of printed multi-colored silk satin. Mid-calf length, with short (elbow-length?) sleeves, the robe is styled as a kimono with narrow sleeves. Unlined. Neckline, 1/2 of the length of the center front opening, and edges of sleeves are edged with 1 1/2" wide black satin bands. The robe has a dark blue ground, with red, pale blue, pale green, and black arc shapes and triangles, and yellow, black, orange, white, and blue lotus forms. Unlined. No labels.

Description: Slip of pale pink silk with pale yellow lace bodice above empire waistline; spaghetti straps of pink silk; small floral appliques on center-front lace bodice; hand-stitching throughout; below knee-length.

Sport hat

Description: Sport hat of off-white French linen. The soft crown is domed and formed of six gores. Around the base of the crown is a red linen ribbon headband, threaded through a series of six "belt-loops" spaced around the base of the crown at approximately where the gores join. Description: A formal celebration is depicted in pink, gold, gray and black. The ground of the postcard is blue gray. Some Japanese text is in an inset on the monument. The scene is at an angle on the card and the picture is partially visible as well.

Taffeta pouch

Description: Pouch of navy silk taffeta with rectangular metal frame in leaf motif. Single chain handle; flip knob closure matching frame with pull tab of matching fabric. Lined in blue silk with pink and gray floral ikat design; single elasticized slip pocket; deteriorating. Built-in coin purse of silk matching lining; arched frame with ball twist closure; lined in tan velvet. Measurements: 12.5 cm across top of frame; 23 cm long excluding tassel.

Description: Kimono "tomesode" of black silk with small white heraldic Mon crests scattered across the upper garment. Inner lining of red silk printed with floral scape. Knee length; loops for fastening on both inside and outside. Single small label at inside collar: "Made in Japan".

Velvet hat

Description: Hat in Renaissance inspired style of red purple/plum silk velvet. The hat has elements of a turban and beret. It is made with an oversized crown of velvet gathered, caught, and draped, pulling under and then back out to form a brim that does not extend as far as the billows of fabric from the crown. The fabric is embellished with running lines of matching chenille and clusters of silver-gray painted wooden beads. Lined in black satin.
