- Evening coat ensemble. A) Coat of red, black and purple silk embroidery in an extra-large paisley design. Band collar; full-length; half length sleeves. Red silk lining. Designer's label at inside back neckline: "Oscar de la Renta" B) Skirt of graduating pattern of light and dark purple sequins. Full-length with a slight train. Dark purple sequins at waist; 1" waistband. Medium purple sequins around hips and calves; light purple sequins around knees and ankles. Left size zipper closure; purple chiffon lining. - Hat of fine white Abaca Sinamay. Styled as a modified breton with upturned brim, the 4" high crown is gently rounded with a wide, twisted hatband of the same material. 17" across, the wide, circular brim extends out and curves out and up and is faced with artificial flowers in red, white, blue, and yellow silk. The crown is unlined with a headband of white grosgrain ribbon. Designer's label: "Ian / D" with small red rhinestone attached at upper right corner

Lined in black, with wide yellow raw silk bands at neckline, hemline, either sides of center front opening. Built-in shoulder pads. Designer's label: "Pierre Balmain / Paris" Handwritten couture label underneath: "178.197" B) Pencil skirt of black boucle'. Knee-length skirt has side zipper and hook-and-bar closure. Two darts on either side of front and back. Length: 24" (61 cm) Lined in black silk. No label.
