The carpet design includes many circular patterns and shapes in a variety of earth tone colors, tan, orange, green, brown and some straight geometric squares and rectangles as the base design.

Daytime Dress
Daytime dress of printed cotton lawn. Street-length of white cotton lawn is printed with stripes of grays and coral is sleeveless, with wide straps and V-neckline in front and back. The bodice is cut so that stripes are diagonal, meeting at center front and back and emphasizing the V-neckline. The narrow waist is slightly dropped, and is defined by a wide set-in decorative belt of the same fabric, with stripes running horizontally, with fabric-wrapped rectangular buckle and ends. The full skirt has stripes running vertically, and is gathered at the waist/bottom of the belt. There is one underskirt of cream faille, and a second of stiff cream netting. The center-back zipper closure extends from single hook-and-eye at neckline to base of belt. Bodice is partly lined with cream faille and has internal boning. There is a white grosgrain ribbon inner waistband with hook-and-eye closures. Designer's label is sewn inside dress, to bodice lining at left side: "Adele Simpson". This dress was a gift of the designer Adele Simpson and her husband Wesley Simpson to the Dallas Museum of Fashion, which later became the Texas Fashion Collection.
Gloves
Evening gloves of midnight blue satin. Dark blue jersey knit at palms and fingers. 6cm slit on back of glove (ending at wrist). Two piece arms of gloves cross to form bow-like feature on back. Elbow length. Designer Label: Lucienne Harang / M / New York
Hat
Hat of shiny beige/light brown straw. Formed somewhat as a turban, the strands (approximately 50) of straw are wrapped and swirled around stiff net base creating a high, somewhat conical crown with an effect like a turban or a high-piled swirl of blond hair. Completely covered with beige veiling. Dark muted orange satin binding (1/2 inch deep) around edge of crown. Designer's label sewn to inner edge: "Christian Dior / chapeaux / Paris~New York"
Gloves
Pair of gloves of white cotton. The daytime gloves are wrist length, with 3 tucks at top along back of hand, and a 1/2" fold-over band at wrist hem.
Sling-Back Pumps
Pair of sling-back pumps of black patent leather. The shoes are designed with a rounded, open toe, the uppers also cut away at heel. The throat of the toebox with band of leaf-shaped openwork/cutouts in groups of three. Wide sling-back strap, which secures with rectangular buckle. Thick "stiletto" style heel, covered in same leather. Designer's label: "Palter De Liso Inc. / New York City"; and "Palter De Liso / Capri / Last" Retailer's label: "Neiman Marcus Co. Hat of brown mink. Brimless, the domed crown is made with radiating stripes of brown mink alternating with stripes of black jersey. Lined in black jersey. Designer's label inside: "Styled by Coralie", and with a Union label.
Ecce Homo
The vertical sculpture depicts a person, from the title, Christ and His crown of thorns. The figure is curvilinear and emaciated.
Cloche Hat
Cloche-style hat of blue/gray feathers. The crown of the hat is made of dark blue mesh overlaid with a mosaic of blue/gray feathers. Brimless, the lower edge of the crown arcs upwards at front and slightly in back. The hat is lined in the mesh, and has an inner hatband at the lower inside edge of the crown. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Made In / France", "Christian Dior / Paris"

Pillbox Hat
Pillbox hat of brown fur. The pillbox crown is formed of a cylinder of brown fur. Lined with metallic weave fabric with stripes of red, green, gold metallic, edged with brown grosgrain ribbon and with a band of gold rickrack. At each side, attached to inner band, is a small plastic comb to secure hat to wearer's head. Designer's label at inside back edge: "Sue Dooley / Dallas"

Pillbox hat of golden yellow/brown fur felt. The cylindrical crown is slightly domed at top, and the sides slant slightly outwards to base. At left side, near front, is a "brush" of golden yellow/brown "feather-hay", held in place by a line of rhinestones which curves at each end. Hat is lined in tan fabric with printed designs in one quadrant. Inner hatband of brown/yellow/tan grosgrain ribbon. Evidence of holes to attach combs at each side to secure hat to wearer's head, now missing. Designer's label inside at back edge: "Sue Dooley / Dallas"

Jockey cap of navy felt. Hemispherical crown formed of 6 triangular segments. At top of crown is a small green enameled "apple" shaped charm, one green enameled spherical bead, and one orange enameled bead. At front of cap is crescent-shaped bill with inner wired edge. A) Dress of deep blue and orange silk with multi-colored embroidered flowers and squares. Full-length deep blue silk dress with rounded neckline which is edged in gold and with band of square embroidered blocks of color, red, green, blue, white, extending down front in "keyhole". Square "bib" on front and back of orange silk, with border of embroidered flowers of red, blue, and white, and leaves of yellow, with gold embroidered vines and outlining. 3/4 or longer sleeves, with orange panels on upper arms to elbows, with embroidery matching bib. Cuffs with embroidered squares matching neckline. Dress has added gores at sides of orange silk which create a slight A-line. Lower part of dress embroidered with: tall vertical obelisk forms in gold with squares of red, blue, white, green, and "foliate forms" embroidery; Tall bands of large embroidered flower heads and leaves matching bib, but enlarged; Flowers and vines in red, white, yellow, green, blue, etc. Back of dress with same decoration as front, bib is shorter. Vertical closure at neckline, with single hook-and-loop at neckline. Unlined. Dress - Kutchi Group, Pashtun Peoples, Afghanistan.
Kutchi Dress of the Pashtun Peoples, Afghanistan. Full-length. Bodice of various fabrics and embellishments. Rounded neckline with slight standing/band collar of primarily yellow bead-work with blue bead squares containing red bead centers. "Collar" below neckline of pendant silver-colored coins. Shoulder areas of purple with primarily yellow stitching forming scroll-work. Front "bib" of dark red outlined with same bead-work as neckline, and sewn with 9 horizontal rows of green tear-drop shaped beads and a line of silver-colored coins. Center part of bodice of black fabric with all-over red reflective circles. Wide "waist" of dress with geometric bead-work band of white, green, red, blue, and orange, with band of small circular mirrors and two lower borders of fringe tipped with white and green beads, and lowest border of coins. Sleeves of dark green velvet with bands of rickrack of silver and gold, and stitching matching the shoulder areas. Edged with bead-work and with row of silver-colored coins. Skirt is full-length, and full, and is of dark blue/black fabric printed with white and grey pattern of small flower blossoms, paisley shapes, dots, leaves, etc. Hem of dress with wide embroidered band, upper section with horizontal band of squares of various colors (reddish, green, orange, pale green, purple), center band of yellow, and lower band of reddish/magenta. Unlined. No labels or tags.

Front and side panels covered with embroidery, primarily geometric designs, in rusts, orange, white, blue, yellow, green, and white. Three ties in back, at neck, upper, and middle back. Partly lined in red fabric. No labels or tags in top. B) Ghaghro (Skirt): Full-length skirt of heavy red fabric. Drawstring waist. Waistband with horizontal bands of: Vertical purple, yellow, and red striped silky fabric; thin band of red fabric; thin band of green fabric; thin band of orange fabric; thin band of black fabric. Body of skirt gathered into the waistband. Two horizontal rows of repeated large embroidered motifs of potted flowers with pairs of birds, interspersed with smaller motifs of flowers. Each design with inset small circular mirrors in embroidered frames. Lower section/hem with wide band of embroidered and appliqued decorations. Festival ensemble including (a) a below-knee length robe of red woven silk with embroidered ram's horn motif trim, (b) a cylindrical cap headpiece covered with circular silver repousse discs, and surmounted by a sphere with a central "spike" from which hang three bells and three oval plaques on short chains, (c) a pendant of silver and simulated lapis lazuli and carnelian, shaped as a large inverted flat "spade" card suit, and (d) a green cloth necklace edged with black cloth tape and embellished with spaced stamped silver roundels.

Pillbox-style hat of faux(?) purple felted fur. The cylindrical crown has horizontal "waist" at mid-point, and a flat top. Surmounting hat is a cone-shaped ornament formed of layers of rhinestone set discs, of "amethyst" in two shades, "aquamarines", "diamonds", and a surmounting "amethyst". Lined in purple satin with dark purple grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. Retailer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Neiman-Marcus"

Hatlet of cream satin. The low cap, designed somewhat like a beret, is rounded and flattened, bulging at sides. No brim. At one side is a horizontal spray of fine white feathers extending back along the side of the hat. Inside of hat is lined with a golden satin, and has an off-white grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. Two small plastic combs are attached to inner sides of hat to help secure it to wearer's head. Designer's label inside crown: "Neiman-Marcus / Made to Order" A price tag is attached to inner hatband, originally $7.50, reduced to 75 cents.
