Description: Pair of shoes of ivory kid leather. Designed as "flats" with pointed toes, the shoes have a wide strap across instep, to which is applied large silk bow embellished with small white beads. Top of upper with edged with thin band of ivory silk ribbon. Maker's mark stamped inside: "Brandt's / St. Louis"

Bonnet

Description: Child's poke-type bonnet of white silk. Completely shirred and trimmed with white satin ribbon, outlined with lace. High crown to which circular shirred flange has been added. Label inside crown mostly illegible; last word is "Chicago".

Hat

Description: Hat of dull golden horsehair mesh over wire framework. Cylindrical crown widening to base of horsehair constructed in a spiral, on wire armature. Side of crown with wide black velvet band with self bow at back. Slightly oval brim of same horsehair set so sides are wider than front or back. Description: Capelet of dark brown to black plush, possibly silk and cotton, resembling seal fur. Rounded roll collar trimmed in brown soutache braid stitched with a line of purple thread and black glass or jet beads. Center front opening with hook & eye at neck. Description: Daytime coat of black wool for mourning wear. The princess-line shell of the coat falls to mid-calf with a scalloped hem, and has a high standing band collar lined with a gathered black silk ruffle. The ruffle is edged with two narrow bands of ruching and is embellished with cut-work backed in black silk, the cut-work edged with black grosgrain ribbon decorated with black beads and jet. Description: Infant's gown of white cotton batiste with V-shaped ruffled yoke. Long sleeves. Center front of yoke and hemline have faggoting with narrow drawn work to each side. Cuffs and hem of ruffle have matching drawn work. Gown is box pleated at yoke. Center back opening; closure missing.

Kimono

Description: Japanese wedding kimono of copper colored, stiff silk brocade. Uchikake (formal kimono with rolled padded hem.) This uchikake is the long formal outer gown that would be worn without a sash or obi. Standing band collar that extends to the front gore panels. Hanging square hirosode sleeves open from the underarm. The sleeves are padded with silk batting. Fully lined in orange/red silk. The lining is exposed at the rolled hem and at the sleeve openings.
