Gold and black silk chiffon evening ensemble. A) Overblouse: peasant-style blouse of sheer black chiffon patterned in gold. Round open neckline, bound in black satin edged with gold braid. Centerfront slit opening, bound in black satin, with black and gold braided cord, tasseled ties. Full, gathered, full-length set-in sleeves with narrow black satin cuffs. The cuffs have a flush closure secured with a gold metallic loop and faceted black button. B) Underbodice: strapless, tubular bodice of pleated black chiffon patterned in gold. Centerfront ruched band from neck to waistline. Left sideseam zipper closure with a single hook & eye at the neckline. Fully lined in light brown silk. C) Skirt: full-length, pleated, full skirt of gold floral patterned black silk. Narrow waistband with lapped closure secured with a single hook & bar and snap. Centerback zipper closure. Waistline has been altered at centerfront.

Skirt lined in silk matching bodice. Designer's label at inside right side seam " Autumne - Hiver 1963 / Christian Dior / Paris" Style number stamped on label: "20980" b) Jacket/over blouse; box style. Front placket with 6 mother-of-pearl 1" non-functioning buttons and bound buttonholes gives a double breasted appearance. Rolled collar which wraps around neckline is fastened with a matching button and loop and 12 covered snaps. Long, set-in sleeves. Center back zipper with hook & eye. Lined in sheer, ivory organza.

Breton Hat
Breton hat of light tan woven Baku straw. The high, cylindrical crown is slightly domed at top, and is encircled at the base by an off-white band of folded organza. The crown is surrounded by the wide upturned brim, which extends out and then turns up to vertical, forming a "wall" around the crown. Te side of the brim facing the crown is faced with a band of the same woven straw. The hat is unlined, with an off-white inner grosgrain ribbon hatband.
Breton Hat
Breton hat of light turquoise/jade green fur felt. The high crown has a shallow domed top, and is encircled by the wide brim, which curves up vertically around the crown. The brim is lined/faced with the same fur felt. The hat is unlined, with matching green grosgrain ribbon inner hatband, and is accompanied by a hat pin, the head of which is covered in the same fur felt. Designer's label: "Balenciaga / 10, Avenue George V. Paris"
Breton-style hat
Hat of pink and white silk printed with a pattern of harlequin diamonds. Designed as a modified Breton hat, the high crown is gently domed, and encircled at base by a narrow hatband of the same pink and white silk fabric. The wide brim extends outwards, then curves out, up, over, and back in, so that the edge of the brim is pointing back to the lower part of the crown, similar to a sombrero. The brim is lined/faced with the same fabric. The crown is unlined, allowing inner white stiffened net to show, and has an inner off-white grosgrain ribbon headband and small comb to help secure hat to wearer's head. No designer's labels.

Shoes: matching gold brocade, high heeled pumps. Tan leather soles. Gold leather lining with stamped label in instep. Label: Rene Mancini. Paris. Fait Main.

Man's necktie of bronze silk in herringbone inspired stripe. Tipped in off-white with white "Yves Saint Laurent / Paris New York" print. "YSL" embroidered monogram.

Mini dress of tan twill knit heavily trimmed with wooden buttons to create heart shaped open design on the center front. Sheath style with one shoulder.
Calotte
Calotte of beaded black satin. Evening hat in the form of a calotte (also spelled "calot"). The low, domed crown is made of segments of black satin over a core of woven straw. The surface is embellished with black plastic sequins and beads of various sizes. At top of crown is small squashed spheroid finial covered with a pattern of cylindrical and circular faceted black plastic beads. Inside lower edge of crown is black grosgrain ribbon band. Sewn behind band are three elastic loops to help secure hat to head of wearer. No labels.
Calotte
Hat of red satin and sequins. The hat is styled as a calotte (also spelled "calot") of dark red satin almost completely covered in sequined floral appliques. Irregular lower edge, following the outline of the appliques. Lined in black paper (?) and satin, and with an inner hatband of black grosgrain ribbon. A small stitched mark on the band indicates the front of the hat, and a small applied white ribbon bow is set at back. Designer's Label: "Lilly / Daché / Paris New York". Label is large, extending across the inside of the hat, the "Paris", most of "New" and all of "York" are cut off.

Cap
Hat of striped silk satin. Formed as a baseball cap, the crown is a dome created by 5 triangular segments of cream silk satin with green and thin black stripes. The cloth is cut and arranged so the stripes run vertically to top of crown. The brim is formed as a cap's bill, larger than usual, of the same striped material, with the stripes running from crown to front edge. The hat is unlined, with a small loop sewn in to hang cap. Label inside crown: "Made in France". Made to match a 2-piece ensemble of slacks and waistcoat in the same materials.

Capelet
Caplet of ermine. A) Short cape/caplet of white ermine fur. No collar, with high neckline. Single armhole at right side, set low, allowing lower arm to come through. Left side with no armhole, but with extra fullness so caplet drapes over arm. Fastens at upper left with hook and loop. As designed, the strips of fur appear diagonal when worn, creating the image of the piece being cut on the bias. Lined in pale peach/cream silk. Designer's label at inside right: "Madeline Vionnet / depose" B) Large "puff" of ermine tails to ornament left shoulder. Loop on back to attaches to closure.
Capelet
Two-tiered capelet of midnight blue/black velvet and off-white lace. Capelet extends to about small of back, and has high, standing collar trimmed in dense ruff of tightly gathered of black chiffon. Around throat, along both sides of center front opening, around hem, and on edges and hem of the wide tier (7" at center front, 8" over shoulders) is wide band of off-white floral and scroll lace, placed as an applique along edges. Lined in brown fabric. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Mme. Josse / 3 / Boulevard des Italiens / Paris"
