Description: This paper was presented at the 2016 IFLA World Library and Information Congress News Media Satellite Meeting on News, new roles & preservation advocacy: moving libraries into action. This paper provides and overview of the partnership between the University of North Texas and the Dallas/Forth Worth affiliate station of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC 5/KXAS) to preserve the content of the oldest television news station in Texas, including discussions of copyright, funding, and access to audio/visual collections.
