La torre se encuentra en el centro del Parque Central José Cañas de San Vicente en El Salvador. La construcción de la torre comenzó en 1928 y terminó en 1930. En 2001, un terremoto dañó gravemente la torre, por lo que fue demolida en 2005 y reabierta en 2009 tras ser reconstruida.</p>
