Grid-based Coordinated Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

Description: This paper discusses grid-based coordinated routing in wireless sensor networks and compares the energy available in the network over time for different grid sizes. The authors explore the quality of service of wireless sensor networks, how the coordinator nodes are elected, and the size of the grid area that will minimize the total energy consumption and extend the lifetime of the network.

Call Admission Control Scheme for Arbitrary Traffic Distribution in CDMA Cellular Systems

Description: This presentation discusses call admission control (CAC). The authors define a set of feasible call configurations that results in a CAC algorithm that captures the effect of having an arbitrary traffic distribution and whose complexity scales linearly with the number of cells.

Cell Placement in a CDMA Network

Description: This presentation discusses research on cell placement in a CDMA network. In order to enable iterative cell placement the authors use a computationally efficient iterative process to calculate the inter-cell and intra-cell interferences as a function of pilot-signal power and base station location.

Throughput Optimization in Multi-Cell CDMA Networks

Description: In this paper, the authors investigate the performance of a multi-cell CDMA network by determining the maximum throughput that the network can archive for a given grade-of-service requirement, quality-of-service requirement, network topology and call arrival rate profile.

Anchor Nodes Placement for Effective Passive Localization

Description: This paper discusses anchor nodes placement for effective passive localization. The authors show that, for effective passive localization, the optimal placement of the anchor nodes is at the center of the network in such a way that no three anchor nodes share linearity.

Epidemiological modelling of vaccination and reduced funeral rites interventions on the peproduction number, Râ‚€ of Ebola virus disease in West Africa

Description: This article examines the impacts of control measures on the reproduction number of the Ebola virus using a mathematically-based computational model. Specifically, the authors study the effects of vaccination and reduced funeral rites. This model could be used to forecast the duration of an Ebola epidemic in any country.
