Emergency and Disaster Preparedness for Individuals Who Use Augmentative and Alternative Communication: A Pilot Study on Supported Planning Using a Toolkit

Description: Article describes how when emergencies or disasters arise, individuals who use augmentative and alternative communication are particularly vulnerable. This study highlights the need for preparedness activities that are person-centered and account for the communication support needs of individuals who use AAC if faced with an emergency/disaster.

Comparing the Bayesian Unknown Change-Point Model and Simulation Modeling Analysis to Analyze Single Case Experimental Designs

Description: This article compares two simulation-driven approaches: Bayesian unknown change-point model (BUCP) and simulation modeling analysis (SMA) for three real datasets that exhibit “clear” immediacy, “unclear” immediacy, and delayed effects. In the final analysis, it is recommended that both visual and statistical analyses be conducted for a thorough analysis of SCEDs.

Measuring flexibility: A text-mining approach

A Mediation Analysis of the Association between Fundamental Motor Skills and Physical Activity during Middle Childhood

Description: This article investigates the associations between fundamental motor skills (FMS), health-related fitness (HRF) and physical activity (PA) during middle childhood and examines whether HRF serves as a mediator in these pathways. The behavioral mechanism (e.g., maintaining appropriate levels of HRF) provides meaningful insights to understand the obesity trajectory during middle childhood.

Adolescents’ Physical Activity and Depressive Symptoms: A Psychosocial Mechanism
