Longitudinal Effects of Motivation and Physical Activity on Depressive Symptoms among College Students

Description: This article is guided by Lubans et al.'s conceptual framework and examines the longitudinal relationships of physical activity (PA) motivation with leisure-time PA and depressive symptoms among college students over one academic year. The findings suggest sex-specified motivational intervention strategies and PA promotion programs/opportunities are needed to reduce depression symptoms among college students over time.

A novel benzimidazole derivative, MBIC inhibits tumor growth and promotes apoptosis via activation of ROS-dependent JNK signaling pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma

Description: This study further explores a prior screening program carried out using MTT assay that identified a series of novel benzimidazole derivatives, among which Methyl 2-(5-fluoro-2-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-benzo[d]imidazole-5-carboxylate (MBIC) showed highest anticancer efficacy compared to that of chemotherapeutic agent, cisplatin. On the evolving nature of c/a ratio in a hexagonal close-packed epsilon martensite phase in transformative high entropy alloys

Description: Article studying c/a ratio and transformation volume change of h.c.p. (hexagonal close packed) epsilon martensite phase in transformative high entropy alloys (HEAs) quantified as functions of alloy chemistry, friction stir processing and tensile deformation. The study reveals that while intrinsic c/a is dependent on alloying elements, c/a of epsilon in transformative HEAs changes with processing and deformation.
