Comparison of Thermal Effectiveness and Crevice Corrosion Risk of Fin Geometry on All-Aluminum Microchannel Heat Exchangers

Description: Article all-aluminum microchannel heat exchangers have recently gained popularity in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry. Despite their attractive thermal performance design, these heat exchangers make coils used in automotive, commercial, and residential applications prone to crevice corrosion. This study uses high-fidelity conjugate heat transfer simulations to model a micro channel heat exchanger system that includes fins and tubes with crossflow to compare their thermal … more

Hybrid medical simulation – a systematic literature review

Description: This article presents a systematic literature review of papers published from 1960 to 2019 that illustrate hybrid simulation can be as effective as high fidelity simulators in certain training scenarios while at the same time providing a superior training context to enhance learners patient to care-giver interactions and to better immerse the trainee in the feelings and emotion of the scenario.

Systematic approaches to C-lignin engineering in Medicago truncatula

Description: Article describes how C-lignin is a homopolymer of caffeyl alcohol present in the seed coats of a variety of plant species including vanilla orchid, various cacti, and the ornamental plant Cleome hassleriana. The authors used information from a transcriptomic analysis of developing C. hassleriana seed coats to suggest strategies for engineering C-lignin in a heterologous system, using hairy roots of the model legume Medicago truncatula.
