Relation of Pre- and Post-Puberty Anthropometric Measurements and Performance of American Negro and Caucasian Females on the AAHPER Physical Fitness Battery

Description: The problem of this study is to determine the relationship that may exist among the variables of racial status, puberty status, anthropometric measurements, and physical fitness. Particularly of interest are the anthropometric differences that may exist among Negroes and Caucasians and the effect that these differences may have upon physical fitness as measured by the AAHPER Physical Fitness Battery. Differences among racial groups and puberty groups will be determined by analysis of variance technique and relations among anthropometric measures and physical fitness components will be compared and determined by correlational techniques.

To determine to what extent the Brace Basketball Achievement Test can be relied upon to rank girls basketball squads in an Interscholastic League district. 4. To determine the degree to which the Brace Basketball Test can be relied upon as an aid for the selection of players for a high school girls basketball squad.

Description: Although most schools have bulletin boards, in most cases its educational possibilities and potentialities have not been fully realized by teachers of the health, physical education, and recreation departments. The wealth of facts innate in this program make it a rich field for full realization of values to be derived from the effective use of the bulletin board. Therefore, the writer became interested in setting forth some definite, concise, and practical suggestions in the form of a manual that would serve as a guide in the effective use of the bulletin board.
