The Effect of N, N Bis (ethylene)-P (1-adamantyl) Phosphonic Diamide on Rous Sarcoma Virus

Description: The drug, N,N bis (ethylene)-P (1-adamantyl) phosphonic diamide inhibits focus formation of Rous Sarcoma Virus in tissue culture. Transformation of chick cells was inhibited when the drug was added to chick cells prior to infection. The drug did not inhibit the transformation of Normal Rat Kidney Cells infected with RSV, when the cells were grown at non-permissive temperatures and shifted to permissive temperatures upon addition of the drug. Aggression and Social Interest in Behavior Disordered Students

Description: This study investigated whether behavior disordered children would decrease aggressive behavior if their social interest were developed. An Analysis of the Participant Selection Process Under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act: Texas and Louisiana

Description: Federal guidelines required prime sponsors under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, or CETA, to serve the "significant segments" of the eligible population. This study analyzes whether prime sponsors in Texas and Louisiana correctly identified and served those segments. This study finds that eligible ethnic groups were properly identified and were served equitably; age and gender distinctions, however, were inadequately observed in the providing of services.

Arbitrage Pricing Theory and the Capital Asset Pricing Model: Evidence from the Eurodollar Bond Market

Description: Monthly returns on twenty-seven Eurobonds from July 1982 to June 1986 were examined. There were no consistent differences in returns based on the country in which a firm is located. There were consistent differences due to industry classification, with energy-related firms exhibiting higher average returns and variances. Aspects of Fathead Minnow Reproductive Behavior

Description: Following a study of normal reproductive behavior of fathead minnows, Pimephales promelas, experiments were conducted to determine the stability/variability of behavior by sexually mature, territorial males under a variety of manipulated conditions. Collectively, these experiments indicate that although the individual behaviors of fathead minnows appear to be quite variable, the overall process, reproductive behavior, is stable.

Effects of Lysolecithin on Macrophages

Description: The effect of lysolecithin on the macrophage was studied using five macrophage function assays. The results of indicate that lyso lecithin is a macrophage activating agent which causes enhanced cell spreading, increased phagocytosis of sheep erythrocytes, heightened membrane activity in the presence of damaged autologous red blood cells, chemotaxis, and vigorous phagocytosis and intracellular killing of Staphylococcus albus.
