Sonata for Mixed Quartet

Description: This quartet is comprised of two wind instruments, flute and clarinet, and two stringed instruments, violin and violoncello. This unusual combination affords a wide variety of colors in both melody and chord-voicing that are impossible with an "unmixed" quartet.

String Quartet

Description: The String Quartet is comprised of three movements: Allegro, Adagio, and Vivace. The Allegro utilizes a monothematic Sonata Allegro form: the Adagio is through-composed, and the Vivace is a Rondo. All three movements feature a lean harmonic texture, much of the harmony resulting from linear movement, i.e. counterpoint.

Sonata Form in the Symphonies of Mozart

Description: For this study, the forms of the movements of forty-four symphonies of Mozart-those appearing in the Breitkopf and Hartel "complete" edition of his works- were analyzed. For convenience of reference, the symphonies are discussed in this thesis in their conventional numbering-that of the Breitkopf and Hartel edition- except for six symphonies that appeared in a supplementary volume and are inserted in this study into their approximately correct chronological positions.

A Comparison of Delinquents and Nondelinquents Using the IES Test

Description: Many of the causes for delinquency are known, but more investigation is needed in the prediction of future delinquent behavior. It was in this area of delinquency that this study was concerned. The problem was to compare scores made on the IES Test by a group of nondelinquent males with those made by a group of delinquent males to determine if the IES Test would discriminate between these two groups.
