The Historical and Technical Development of the United States and Confederate States Navies during the Civil War
This study will cover the period between 1861 and 1865. It will cover within that period of time, the technical and historical advance of the navy through the Civil War. The technical approach will cover the advancements in design, engineering, and armament from the beginning of hostilities to its end, and contrast those advancements with those of the period immediately preceding them and immediately after it, while the historical approach will cover the main engagements of the war and the results of the technical advances. The study will also cover the advancement and growth of the Confederate States Navy, and the effect which the marine designs of that navy had on the designs of the rival United States Navy.

The purpose of this study is to determine how adequately Class A schools of Region Three of Texas are conforming to certain standards in business education. A comparative survey of business administration programs has been made, and the programs were evaluated by standards formulated by the Texas State Department of Education and recognized investigators in this field. The present study explores some of the materials native to the Texas Gulf Coast between Corpus Christi and Beaumont relative to their adaptability to weaving. The problem is three-fold: first, to collect and identify the indigenous materials which might prove suitable for weaving; second, to determine the range of uses which each might serve in a weaving program; and third, to test further each selected specimen by making a sample into a finished woven product.

A Microbial Survey of Raw Ingredients Used in Finished Products at Kraft Foods Company, Garland, Texas
The purpose of this investigation is to determine through routine checks the number of organisms present in the various raw ingredients used for the preparation of foods. The problem has consisted of, first, a determination of the total bacterial population by numbers; second, a determination of the incidence of colon bacteria in the samples examined; third, a determination of the presence of yeasts and molds; and fourth, an attempt to utilize this information obtained in judging the methods of handling the raw ingredients before they are used in the processing of foods.
