Description: The proposed interaction between race and sex on achievement orientation has not been adequately demonstrated when cognitive measures are used. Biofeedback Training: Avoidance Conditioning of Frontal EMG

Description: The present study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of utilizing an avoidance conditioning paradigm in EMG biofeedback training and to compare this method to the standard biofeedback training paradigm. The Celtic Elements in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

Description: The medieval English poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight evidences much of its Celtic heritage in the plot and subplot, as well as in the characters themselves. The Ulster Cycle, an ancient Irish story group, and the Mabinogion, a medieval collection of traditional Welsh tales, both contain parallels to the English romance. A Chamber Theatre Adaptation and Analysis of Arthur Schnitzler's "The Blind Geronimo and His Brother"

Description: This oral interpretation thesis describes and analyzes Chamber Theatre as a technique for the presentation and critical understanding of narrative prose. Arthur Schnitzler and his work are analyzed, and his short story, "The Blind Geronimo and His Brother," is adapted to Chamber Theatre script form. It was discovered that Schnitzler's work is well suited to and would probably benefit from Chamber Theatre productions.

Country Music as Communication: A Comparative Content Analysis of the Lyrics of Traditional Country Music and Progressive Country Music

Description: The purpose of this study was to determine whether the themes and values represented in lyrics of progressive country music are significantly different from those of traditional country music. Content analytical techniques were used to determine, first, themes and, second, attitudes reflected in those themes in each type of song. Duals and Weak Completeness in Certain Sequence Spaces

Description: In this paper the weak completeness of certain sequence spaces is examined. In particular, we show that each of the sequence spaces c0 and 9, 1 < p < c, is a Banach space. A Riesz representation for the dual space of each of these sequence spaces is given. A Riesz representation theorem for Hilbert space is also proven. Effects of Age, Fitness Level, and Exercise Training upon Autonomic Control of Heart Rate

Description: In this study the effects of age (18-55 years), differing levels of fitness (VO 2max ranging from 35.5 to 68.8ml.kg-1.min-1) and endurance training (10 weeks) on heart rate control were investigated. The Electronic Spectrum of (-)-S-(pS)-2,5,3',6'-Tetrahydro-2.2-Paracyclophane-2-Carboxylic Acid

Description: A new, efficient route was used in the synthesis of [2.2]-paracyclophane-2-carboxylic acid. The acid as then resolved and the Birch reduction performed yielding one enantiomer of tetrahydro-[2.2]-paracyclophane-2-carboxylic acid. The ultraviolet spectrum of tetrahydro-[2.2]-paracyclophane- 2-carboxylic acid in isopenthane shows one absorption at 206 nm (Emax = 5,271).
