College of Visual Arts + Design Galleries Collection
CVAD Galleries
Since first opening in 1971, the CVAD Galleries has been an inherent participant in the curriculum of the UNT College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) and in the cultural life of the surrounding north Texas communities. The Galleries program enjoys a rich history exhibiting works by artists who have defined the contemporary world as well as by emerging, young artists.
About the CVAD Collection
While the CVAD Gallery is a non-collecting organization, the existing art collection they manage was accumulated from about 1940-2000. The collection primarily consists of UNT student and faculty artworks, as well as past donations of internationally known artists. The majority of the collection is a variety of works on paper (i.e. prints, photographs, books) accompanied by paintings, sculptures and ceramics.
