Ensemble - Blouse and Skirt

Description: Greek inspired evening ensemble of black velvet, yellow satin, and embroidered appliques with purple satin skirt. A) Blouse styled to appear as a vest of black rayon velvet trimmed with bands of floral and leaf motif embroidery with gold braid, beads, and multicolored embroidered flowers. Center front opening with closure of 5 large covered snaps. Large floral appliques on center back and at center front opening. Over-sized puffed sleeves of yellow rayon/silk blend satin to elbows; 2-1/2" cuffs have closure of two covered snaps. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Victor Costa" Union label attached under designer label. Fiber content label at right side seam. B) Skirt in purple rayon/silk blend satin. Full, gathered, floor length. Center back zipper closure with two hook & bars on the 2" waistband. Slit pockets at side seams. Fully lined in dark rose synthetic reinforced at waist with 10" gathers of stiff purple tulle at sides of hips. Hem of skirt reinforced with 2" band of horsehair. Designer's label at center waist neckline: "Victor Costa" Union and fiber content labels attached under designer label.

Sandals

Description: Pair of girl's high top white leather sandals styled as boots. Designed with rounded toe, the shoes have six straps from vamp to above ankle that cross from inner side to outer side, and fasten with small simulated (?) mother of pearl buttons. Stacked heel of very low height, almost a flat heel. Stamped inside the shoe: "3C 243".

Description: Pumps of red leather and clear vinyl. Designed with broadly rounded toe, the shes have uppers primarily made of clear vinyl edged with red leather. Coat

Description: Coat of navy blue wool and black lamb. Street length, of heavy navy blue wool, rounded neckline with wide "rolled" collar. Center front opening off-center to left, with hidden snap near throat and 6 buttons in concealed placket. Princess seaming for fit and flare, and with two slit pockets at hips behind side seam, which continues to form a pleat below pocket. Full-length sleeves with wide black cuffs of curly lamb/Astrakhan. Seaming at sides forms a pleated effect from waist to hem. Fully lined in dark blue silk(?) crepe. Designer's label at inside back neckline: "Gallanos" Retailer's label at inside left seam: "Neiman-Marcus"

Evening Dress

Description: Evening dress of rose/pale pink/pale mauve crepe-back satin charmeuse. Inspired by Chinese Cheongsam-style garments, the dress is full-length, slim fitted, with slight standing collar fastened with hidden hook & loop. Sleeveless, the dress has front opening from throat to slightly below right shoulder, secured with three large rhinestone set circular brass(?) buttons. Very slightly raised waist with triangular "flap", open and hanging down from center front to right hip. From just below hip to center front at hem is secondary opening, with 7 buttons matching bodice. Hem slightly scalloped at front overlap corners, and at right side. Left side underarm zipper. Combined designer's/retailer's label inside bodice: "Neiman-Marcus dallas / Maurice Rentner" With tie belt of same fabric, 3/4" wide.

Dressing Gown

Description: Dressing gown/wrapper of black peau de soie. Mother Hubbard style, full-length, shawl collar trimmed with 2 tiers of ruffles of same, and white lace and black velvet ribbon and then bands of white cording overlaid with/couched down with black stitching. Long sleeves with turned 3" back-turned cuffs with white cording and black velvet trim. Hook and eye closure CF. Long velvet ribbon ties at throat. Pleated at center back, with short horizontal diamond-shaped "belt" across lower back, below which is more pleating. Label: "Meyer Jonasson & Co / Pittsburg. New York"
