Description: A) Dress of yellow wool knit. Full-length. Mandarin collar, with ends stitched down to form slight collar points. Center front opening with 17 self-covered circular buttons and bound button holes, two buttons non-functional due to sewn-down collar, and one extra button hole at top in collar, but no button. Long or 3/4 length sleeves. Two large patch pockets at front hips. Lined in yellow silk. Designer's label: "Norman Norell / New York" B) Tie belt of same fabric.

Pumps

Description: Pumps of dark wine/burgundy/red-brown leather. The shoes are designed with pointed toes and a rounded vamp. The plain uppers have a thin "mary jane" strap across ankle, with small gold buckle at outside edge. The high, continental heels are elongated, appearing as a thick spike or stiletto, and are covered in the same leather. Lined in beige leather. Designer's stamp in both: "Charles Jourdan / Made in Spain Parallele" Stamped inside: "2319 4 AA 8" Stamped on sole: "Leather / Leder / Cuir / Made in / Spain".

D'Orsay Pumps

Description: D'Orsay pumps of light brown camel colored leather. Designed with slightly pointed toes and rounded vamp, the leather uppers of the toebox are embellished with thin bands of pierced circular dots around vamp and in a chevron shape extending from either side of toe to a point near vamp. Cut-away sides showing thin platform covered in same leather. Upper heel of same leather, with curved edges, and thin ankle strap of same leather, with small gilt buckle on outside edge. High, elongated continental stacked heel of dark brown wood layered in horizontal bands, the shape similar to a spike or stiletto. Lined with black leather. Designer's stamp on lining: "Charles Jourdan / Paris / Made in France" Handwritten inside: "B 3565[illeg] MA U"

Dress

Description: Dress of navy blue wool knit. The mid-length dress has a contrasting red wool knit mandarin collar and long sleeves with red wool knit cuffs. Mandarin collar is stitched down at ends. There are two large patch pockets at front, and a center front closure with twelve circular mother-of-pearl buttons mounted with gold-colored metal rims. The buttonholes are bound with the contrasting red wool knit. The dress has an attached wide red wool knit belt/sash which ties at waist in front. Fully lined in dark navy blue silk. Designer's label inside of skirt, underneath lining, at side seam: "Norman Norell / New York"

Evening Ensemble - Jacket and Dress

Description: Evening ensemble consisting of: A) Evening dress of black wool crepe, knee-length, sleeveless, and with jewel neckline. Center back zipper, with hook & eye. Attached belt of 2-1/2" wide black satin ribbon at waist. Side in-seam pockets. Lined in black silk. B) Jacket of black wool crepe with satin cuffs, and jewel neckline, and long sleeves. Center front opening. Jacket is completely covered in vertical lines of clear/ mirror rhinestones. Lined in black silk. Jacket has combined Designer's/Retailer's label at center back neckline: "Norman Norell for Bonwit Teller"

Skirt Suit

Description: Skirt suit of navy blue double knit wool. a) Jacket of navy blue double knit wool. Shawl collar, full-length sleeves with functioning button on each sleeve. Center front opening which secures with attached 3" belt of self with two matching buttons. Four front patch pockets, each securing with single matching button. All buttons are smooth, circular mother-of-pearl buttons set in gold tone mounts and all buttonholes are bound. Cream silk(?) lining. Designer's label at inside left: "Norell" Retailer's label at inside back collar: "Nan Duskin / Philadelphia" b) Skirt of same material. 3/4 length. A-line which gathers slightly into 2-1/2" wide waistband. Left side zipper with hook-and-loop at waistband. Lined in dark blue nylon(?). Combined Designer's/Retailer's label sewn to inside of outer layer of skirt, hidden beneath lining layer: "Norman Norell for Nan Duskin" Maker's label, handwritten cream ribbon, sewn inside lining: "3055 - 711 - 14 - 136"

Description: Pumps of hot pink silk shantung. The shoes are designed with a pointed toe and squared vamp. The plain uppers have a simple top-stitch around upper edge. The continental heel is covered at sides and back with same pink silk, and at front with light brown leather. Lined in off-white leather. Dress

Description: Evening dress of white appliqued lace and black taffeta. Bodice of white lace with appliqued soutache braid in a floral chrysanthemum motif. Tea length; long sleeves with 3" cuffs and snap closure. Scooped neckline has a scalloped edge. Empire waist and gathered skirt of black taffeta. Center back zipper closure. Hemline of skirt is stiffened with 1-1/2" band of horsehair. Bodice lined in peach synthetic and skirt lined in black synthetic.

Dress

Description: Plum colored polyester chiffon evening dress. Sleeveless empire waist with deep V-neckline. Caplet overdrape covering the upper arms and back. Elastic casing at the empire waist. Knee-length chiffon overskirt embellished with sequin-like clusters of glitter in an arabesque design. Floor-length plum crepe underskirt with chiffon panel from knee level to hem. The chiffon panel is embellished with sequin-like clusters of glitter in an arabesque design. The neckline, caplet, overskirt and underskirt are edged with silver hemtape. Inside, shoulders have small straps and snaps to conceal bra straps. Labels stitched centerback below neckline: Designer label: "Janice Wainwright / at / Forty Seven Poland Street / England"; "Dry Clean Only / [P in circle] Cool iron"; "100% / Viscose"; "GB 10 / USA 8".

Men's suit

Description: Man's two piece suit of black and grey striped wool. A) Jacket with narrow notch lapels. Single breasted with closure of three buttons with worked buttonholes. Two 5.5" vents in back; cuffs have four non-functional matching black buttons. There are two welt pockets on the front near the hip; the right one has a smaller pocket within it; one left breast welt pocket. Partially lined in black polyester. One jetted pocket inside right breast. Shoulder pads. 18" shoulder. Designer and Retailer label inside right breast: "DeRogatis / New York / Neiman-Marcus" B) Pants with two side seam pockets. Two jetted pockets in back, the left with a black button and worked button hole closure. Front has two darts; front zip fly closure with a 3.5" long tab with two hooks, inside tab closes with a black button and worked buttonhole. Each side at waistband has adjustable tabs and two black buttons. 32.5" inseam; 34" waist at rest, or 33" waist with adjustable tabs. Designer label inside back waistband: "DeRogatis Bros, Inc. / New York"

Delantal

Description: Delantal (Apron). Made from remnant of jaspe (ikat) corte (skirt). Material is very nicely detailed with a scalloped bottom that is trimmed in velvet. The lining of the pockets is made from the same skirt material. This piece was probably used as an accessory to a garment for a statue of a saint.

Mola panel

Description: Mola (panel for a woman's blouse) 3 layer handstitched reverse applique with bird and fish motif on a black background. There is no indication this piece was part of a blouse - it was probably woven for trade.
