Hat

Description: Hat of red purple/plum silk velvet. The hat has elements of a turban, tam-o-shanter, and beret. It is made with an oversized crown of red purple or plum velvet, gathered, caught, and draped, pulling under and then back out to form a brim that does not extend as far as the billows of fabric from the crown. The fabric is embellished with running lines of matching chenille, and clusters of silver-gray painted wooden beads. The hat is lined in black satin. Retailer's label sewn inside crown: "Pogue / Cincinnati".

Designed with slightly pointed toes squared at ends, the main body of the upper is of light beige polished leather, with thin band of holes punched along upper edge. Toebox of darker beige leather with punched hole band and "pinked" edge at join, and a design of punched holes across top. Heel area of same darker beige leather, with same band of holes and "pinking" edge at join. Heel tapers to base. Description: Pair of heeled pumps of tan linen printed with pastel floral design. Designed with pointed toes, almost as D'Orsay pumps, with sides almost cut to platform. Dark tan/taupe/beige triangular straps to ankle strap, which has oval embossed metal "buckle" which hooks into oval loop secured to other side. 2 1/2" high modified boulevard heels covered in same leather as straps. Stamped in both shoes: "Christie / Potter Cincinnati" Handwritten in both shoes: "39-0000G14104 / 1369" Measurements: length 25.5cm. Width 7cm. Height 13.5cm. Heel 5cm (2 1/2") high on axis.

Description: Pair of lady's shoes of brown leather. The shoes, designed with gently pointed toes, are of the Oxford style of brown leather with openwork at sides of instep and with laced closure at instep of 4 holes height. The medium height heels are styled as a modified Cuban or continental heel, with rounded sides and back, tapering to base, and slightly curved at front. The heels covered with matching leather. Sole of tan leather, with rubber/composite on heel. Stamped in lining on one shoe: "Arch Rest / Drew / Portsmouth. O."
