Description: From abstract: A study was made of the White River between Lake Sequoyah and Beaver Lake to determine the quality of the river under existing conditions and how the effluent from the Fayetteville municipal wastewater-treatment plant, the only point source discharger of waste effluent to the river, affects this quality.

Identification and Classification of Perennial Streams of Arkansas

Description: From introduction: The primary purpose of this study was to identify perennial streams. The secondary purpose was to classify them by flow. This information can be useful for planning and designing water supplies, analyzing environmental and economic impacts of various projects, water-quality modeling, and the determination of optimum and maintenance flows for a variety of instream uses.

Time of Travel of Selected Arkansas Streams

Description: From introduction: The purpose of this report is (1) to present the results of time-of-travel and dispersion measurements made on selected streams in Arkansas from 1971 to 1981, and (2) to present a graphical method for quickly predicting traveltime, peak concentration, and duration of an accidentally spilled contaminant for those streams where enough data are available.
