owner of a travel agency in tiny Graham,
Texas. But on weekends, 60-year-old Guy
Meacham resided at his Grand Prairie town-
house, making frequent forays to the Cedar
Springs gay district where, investigators say,
he frequently picked up hustlers. Authorities
speculate that one of those liaisons turned
tragic late last month, when an unknown
assailant killed Meacham at his townhome and
stole his automobile. Investigators seek help
from those who may have known the victim.
Log Cabin Republicans has drawn fire from
a liberal gay and lesbian organization for its
plans to hand out an award to the controver-
sial California Republican who authored the
successful referendum eliminating affirmative
action programs in that state. The award will
be presented at the group’s national conven-
tion in Dallas next month.
