than ever are living with HIV. However,
infection rates are rising — and even more
people need AIDS services. Over 17,000 Americans
died of AIDS last year. AIDS will only be under
control when that number, around the world, is zero.
Ordinary people, not athletes, doing the
AIDSRide? Impossible.
In fact, most have never done anything like this in
their lives. Many don’t even own bikes when they
register. It’s not a race. It’s not competitive.
