rom marching in Mardi Gras parades tocampaigning for a drug-free campus,
NT's campus organizations had a
successful year participating in activities
and recruiting new members.The NT Sabre Drill Team spent Mardi
Gras in New Orleans, where they marched in
the Proteus and Comus parades. "Between the
flying beads, the kissing women and other
unmentionable escapes, the Sabres never lost
their rapport and never blinked an eye," said
drill team commander Victor Kylar, Waxaha-
chie junior. "The purpose of the Sabre Drill
Team is to promote the Air Force and the
University of North Texas."
NT's Residence Hall Association won
awards for most spirit, best delegation, roll call
and distinguished leaders at a Texas Residence
Hall Association conference in November.
RHA president Karla Ross, Denton sopho-
more said, "It (the conference) enhances lead-
ership qualities and brings out new leaders."
In an effort to bring together students from
different countries. RHA sponsored the NT
Centennial Olympic Games. Nearly 200 repre-
sentatives from Pakistan, Lebanon, Hong
Kong, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, The
People's Republic of China and the United
States participated in this 3-day event.
