Skills taught in mini-courses
North Texas offers a variety of
mini-courses in which any student
can participate. The University also
distributes 63,000 pamphlets
throughout Denton County which of-
fer the courses to the general public.
Registration for the courses is han-
dled on a first-come-first-served basis
and must be completed before the
class begins. The classes have a limit
on attendance and meet once a week
for two to three hours. The majority
of the courses are held on campus,
Letha Ann Pilgrim
and they tend to vary in price due to
materials and equipment required.
NT offers a wide range of courses
from music to knitting. In the cre-
ative writing workshop, the students
are required to complete one shot
story. Students improve their per-
ception and drawing ability in "Be-
ginning Drawing." The Rag and Rib-
bon Sweaters workshop is designed
to acquaint knitters with the method
of knitting high-fashion sweaters at a
fraction of the retail cost.
