The annual NTSU Greek Week
opening ceremonies were held on
February 27 in 1985. For the first
time, the individual fraternities and
sororities were organized into teams
for the Greek Week competition.
These teams worked together to
compete in the events and collect
donations to unite the Greek system
as a whole. This change in Greek
Week was one of the many ways that
NT attempted to improve student in-

Other events included in Greek
Week were the All Greek Toga Party
and the All Greek Picnic. The pro-
ceeds collected at all the events to-
talled $4,000 and were donated to
the Denton United Way.
Finally, at the end of the week, the
teams' total points were tabulated
and the Gamma Team was awarded
the Greek Week trophy. The Gam-
ma Team was comprised of Alpha
Phi Alpha, Chi Omega, Delta Sigma
Phi and Theta Chi.
The week benefitted the Greek
system by unifying its organizations
through fundraising and competition
and also improved the image of the
NT Greek Organization in the eyes of
the campus and local community.
Student Association President Rob
Graham expressed that the Greeks
and Student Association were
pleased with the end results of Greek
