The "Big Apple", a place of fast
pace living, excitement, hustle and
bustle, and hard work. The educa-
tional, historical and exciting sights
were not all that drew the Home Eco-
nomics Department to New York
This once experimental trip to the
New York Market by the Home Eco-
nomics department is now an annual
summer course being offered to NT
students. The course is offered dur-
ing one of the two summer sessions
of summer school. The class is cred-
ited with 3 credit hours and students
also receive on hand experience
viewing behind the scenes of the mar-
ket. The course includes a six day
field study in New York City with a
five day orientation and a three day
post trip evaluation.
The tour list makes visits to the
Costume Institute at the Metropoli-
tan Museum of Art, International of-
fices of the Fashion Group Inc., Sev-
enth Avenue showrooms, and major
department and speciality stores.
The classroom work and indepth
study of the New York Market along
with the experience received make
for an enriching, exciting, learning
