The faculty of the Department of Accounting
and Information Systems strongly believes that
preparation for a career as a professional accountant
requires a program of study leading to the Master of
Science with a major in accounting. However, there
is also a need in industry and government for sys-
tems analysts that have a thorough understanding
of both accounting and computer-based informa-
tion systems. Accordingly, the Department of Ac-
counting and Information Systems offers a program
leading to the Bachelor of Science in business com-
puter information systems, which can be completed
in a minimum of four academic years.
Programs of study in Business Education at
NTSU meet all standards for Texas State
Teacher Certification. The Department of
Business Education is comprised of 3 divisions
of study. These are: Basic Business, Distribu-
tive Education and a Second Teaching Fields.
