FORT WORTH CITY COUrCIL
The Fort Worth City Council this morning sets
Thursday morning as a special meeting date for talks
on the city's control of the local "War on Poverty."
Fort Worth city- fathers say t hey have asked officers
of the Texas Branch of the Office of economic Opportuni-
to attend the meeting to answer questions.
The council has.                    o decide whether it
will name itself or some other group as the coordinatin{
agency for poverty spending in the city.
The community Action Agency now in existance
would like to have the job, but the c ouncil hasn't
given their OK to anyone yet.
The council did however tell c ity Manager Howard
McMahan to n'rtify the OEO's state office that the
council definitely plans to designate the coordinating
