At their pre-council session this morning, Fort Worth
City Councilmen question the new Director of the
Regional Airport---Tom Sullivan. Sullivan notes that
while other big-city airports are running out of gace
---the Dallas-Fort Worth airport is being built under
ideal conditions. For this reason, Sullivan explains,
the regional project could make the area a hub for
international aviation.
Moving into regular session---the Council shifts from
the international future to the local present. The
council delays action on a recommendation that all new
houses be required to have sidewalks; quibbles briefly
with Mayor McKinley about the order of the agenda; and
discusses the sterilization of female dogs adopted from
the city pound---without taking any action. The
Council does vote to return 315-dollars donated to the
city for a recreation center in the Lake Como area.(MORE)
