First, I would like to thank my dissertation advisor and mentor Dr. Mariusz
Urbaiski for his constant encouragement and patience, and for introducing me to
the theory of iterated function systems. I would also like to thank Dr. Mauldin, Dr.
Cherry, and Dr. Skorulski for aggreeing to be on my dissertation committee.
I would also like to thank my parents and grandparents for supporting me through-
out my graduate studies. I would especially like to thank my wife, Janet Snyder, for
motivating me to finish my degree.
A special "thank you" goes to Dr. James Ochoa, who pressured me into becoming
a math major, and insisted that I continue on to get a Ph.D. in mathematics.
