THE COUNCILS 1-1-1-1-1-1-1
The Fort Worth city council tosses out all bids for
emergency ambulance services and decides to start
over again. The move is initiated by Councilman
Stovall who says the bids are confusing and the
specification all alike. Councilman Hamm
sides with Stovall saying the lessons learned in
debating the ambulance question can be used to form
new specifications. But Councilman Eagle says he
still thinks the contract should go to the Gold
Cross company because it made a good proposition.

Funeral homes operators, who o would end
ambulance service this month, have agreed to serve
until mid-December, giving the city time to grant
a franchise to a company which will take over the
job. Three ambulance companies submitted bids;
presumably, they'll 1 bid again.
