MURDER CHARGES 1:15
Mrs. Charles Young of Arlington is escorted to the
Tarrant County District Attorney's office where she
will be charged with the shooting death of herhusband.
MR. Young, a retired army captain, was killed last
night at the couple's home at 9-06 Woodbrook. Thedeath weapon

is a German luger, one of manycollected by Young during his years of military
service. He retired from the army in 1961. Mrs. MEN"
Young told police she and her husband had argued yes-
terday afternoon. Police say the argument apparently
was related to Young's military decorations. Officers
say Mrs. Young told them her husband had taken their
nine year old son out in the backyard to show him how
to fire the luger. When Mr. Young returned inside the
house, Mrs. Young told police he handed her the pistol
and the weapon fired, hitting her husband in the chest
The couple's son heard the shot and ran next door to
a neighbor's house to get help. The neighbor, Paul
Thrower, found Young lying on the floor, and thought
he could detect a heart-beat, but the retired
