The Ellis Pecan Company on the North side of Fort
Worth will process three-million-pounds of pecans

The nuts are runthrough a cracking-machine and
then a shaker, which seperates the hulls from the
meats. The shelled-pecans next go to an assembly-
line for culling and grading. Wholesale prices
are down this year. Ellis is paying 18-cents-a-
pound for paper-shells, 12-cents less than lastyear.
