Ft. Worth City Council
The Ft. Worth Transit Company comes in for a bumpy
ride before the Ft. Worth City Council, which lets it
be known it isn't going to avoid the chug holes.
INSIDE City Manager Cookingham reports that the Transit company
indicated it would buy ten new busses yearly back in
fare
September, 1960 when twb.increase was allowed by
the city. Cookingham says the busses have not been
purchased, and quotes the company as saying it' n't
buy the kind of busses it prefers because they aren't
being made anymore. He also cites the transit firm's
oompkaint of losses of revenue passengers. Cookingham
z says the decline has been ten per sent a year since

1948. He says if the trend of assengers and
higher fares continues, the transit system in Ft. Worth
