Dallas taxicab drivers gather to vote on a new
two-year contract which will give them a raise in
pay and a five-day work week. C.M. Roseborough,
assistant business manager of Teamsters Local#
7-45, says this is the best contract negotiators
could obtain/ from City Transportation Company.
The voting is done by shifts, the night workers
voting this morning and the day-shift tonight. At
this morning's vote, 32 of the drivers favor
accepting the company offer. The drivers get a
raise in base pay, from 35 to 40 percent of fare
revenue. Only seven persons vote against the offer.
And the vote tonight also favored the contract.
