This is the classic scene in the final act of a crime
spree.....the hunted man slumped in a chair, inside the
sheriff's office at some town he never heard of, while
officers stand around and swap stories about his capture.
He's hurt and he's tired and he lost his confidence about
the same time he lost his pistol. The chase is over for
32 year old Raymond Johnson, an ex-convict from New York
City, who, with the help of a companion, robbed a motel
in Ft Worth last night.
The Holiday Inn, on the city's west side, reportedly was
the eighth firm to be hijacked by the bandits, who blazed
a trail of crime from New York to Texas. They finished
a ten dollar meal at the motel last night, then tried to
rob the resturant's cashier, Mrs. Donna Harless. Mrs.
Harless says the younger bandit pulled a pistol, and she
screamed. Apparently, the scream drove the bandits away
from the resturant and into the lobby, where they tried
