COP AFTER CAR
Melon Greer and police officer E.L. Crenshaw leave Park-
land Hospital in Dallas, and head downtown, where Greer
is due to answer some questions about a two car collision
early this morning, that killed a young mother from Mes-
quite, and critically injured an 18 month old girl. 17
year old Mrs. Doris Wyatt was killed, when the car in
which she was riding crashed head-on into another auto,
in the 6700 block of R.L. Thornton Expressway. Witnesses
said the driver of the other car fled the accident scene.
Crenshaw says Greer was arrested at Parkland about 10:30
this morning, after seeking treatment for facial injuries.
Crenshaw says police had been keeping a close check on
all reported injuries, following the fatal accident.
Greer had told hospital attendants he had been beaten
and robbed, but, after questioning by police, he admitted
driving the other car involved, and leaving the scene.
