ector Bradshaw says no cases of encephalitis, or sleep- ing aft sickness, have been found in Fort Worth, but both species of Culex mosquitoes, which carry the dis- ease, are found in this area. Houston may have account- ed for 17 encepahalitis deaths during the past month, o and one death is on record at Plainview in West Texas. Mosquitoes transmit the diseased only after biting an
infected bird or snake.
