COTTON MAID
The 1963 Maid of Cotton has unpacked her bulky
wardrobe in Dallas for showings of cotton creations
9 by thirty-one of the top clothes designers in
America. She packs them in at the Dallas Country'
Club this afternoon for the first of two fashion
shows sponsored by Tichets.
MED. SHE WALKS
The Queen of the Cotton industry is 23-year-old
Shelby. Smith, a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She is currently on a goodwill tour which will
take her fifty thousand miles to spread the word
about cotton fashions and the industry's other
products.
MODEL WALKS AFTER CROWD
While the Maid of Cotton is making a change, model
Peggy Heston comes out to show off a white cotton
duck in a sailor motiff. It comes with a long, red
tie and zippers up and down the front. Beneath,
Peggy wears a sailor-style swim suit with brass
buttons. It's all cotton -. except the buttons,1-1-1
