A couple of years ago, the owners of the Caba.
Motor Hotel in Dallas, went to Italy., to buy some
marble. They found what they wanted, in the Carrara
Mountains, near Florence. The marble;-seven blocks
of it;-was hauled to Florence, to be sculpted into
replicas of famous Greek figures. All seven
figures may now be seen at the Cabanna. The last
arrival is the Venus of Medioh a noted work of
Hellenistic art. Unfortunately, she suffered an
accident, somewhere along the way, leaving her with
only one arm, minus the usual number of fingers.
Hotel officials are not
sure who is to blame, or
what can be done about it, but they MUM[to go
ahead, and put the woman on her pedestal, near the
main entrance. The Venus of M4dic~ and her white
marble companions, weigh about 26-hundred pounds 'I
each. The seven sculptures represent at outla of
about k7-housand dollars.
