Looks suspicious, but ts its just an idea by the Fair
Department store in Ft Worth, designed to make it
less painfull for a man to do his Christmas shopping.
The 8-08 Club, so named because of the stores location
at 8"08 Throckmorton, puts an end to roaming around a
store, trying to find somthing for the little wife or
Aunt Ethyl. The male customer deposits himself in a
nice., soft chair, tells the clerk what held like to
see, and the item is rushed to the club, to be d ayed
by an attractive model. The merchandise may range from
a scarf to a Stone Martin Stole, price tag, 539 dollars.
About the only item the club refuses to consider is a
woman shopper, they're tabu in the 8.08. Here, the
man is king and, to borrow a phrase from a soap
commercial, this kind of treatment makes Christmas
shopping almost nice.
Here’s what’s next.
