of Loomis and Peck of Philadelphia
(Smith had apparently been replaced as a
partner by Loomis) to include the following

- Child's Natural History of Fishes
By 1847, the following titles had been
added by the same firm of Loomis and

- Little History of the U. States
- Little Poems for Little Folks
A few years later, the Peck firm
changed again, becoming H.C. Peck &
Theo. Bliss, still in Philadelphia, but
the series was still going strong and had
expanded once again. These additional
titles were now available, in the same

- Indians of America
- Scenes in America
- Quadrupeds of America
- Birds of America
- Books of Famous Kings and Queens
- Book of Trades

Probably some years later, the firm of
Clark, Austin, and Smith of New York published
a Tom Thumb Series, brought out
several (or all) of the same titles with
identical text and plates and in similar
format (only about 1/8 inch larger) to the
Philadelphia firm. All of which began
with Tilt's Handbooks for Children of the
Book case containing 8 of C. Tilt's Handbooks for Children.
