DMA June Events/4
LECTURE: Egypt in Africa, Cultural Connections within the
African Continent. This second in a two-part lecture series will
employ a panel discussion to survey the relationship between
Egypt and the rest of the African continent. The panel will
comprise Dr. Anne Bromberg, curator of Eternal Egypt: Objects of
the Afterlife; Alvia Wardlaw, DMA Adjunct Curator ofAfrican-
American Art; Mr. James Tyler, co-founder of Dallas' Third Eye
organization; and Dr. Karl Kilinski, Associate Professor of Art
History, Southern Methodist University. This series was
developed due to the popularity which Eternal Egypt has aroused
in the entire Dallas community and it was made possible by a
generous grant from the Edward and Betty Marcus Foundation. DMA
Auditorium, 1 p.m., Free.
Sunday, June 30
LECTURE: Mark Melson, director of orchestra operations and
former music critic, will lecture on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The Man Mozart is part of a tribute to Mozart on the 200th
anniversary of his death. DMA Auditorium, 2 p.m., Free.
