Notes

Abstract: This presentation discusses research on electrical stimulation of nerve cell networks growing on microelectrode arrays. The objective of this study is to characterize stimulation efficiency/entrainment as a function of the following variables: frequency (pulses/trains), pulse durations, and number of pulses/trains. There has been no study done yet that pins down the most effective characteristics of a stimulation pulse train. This research may pave the way for improved communication with networks and studies of information storage.
