Bricklayer Genaro Silva keeps right on at his job in
far north Dallas even though the home he's helpingK destroyed by y
to build was fire early today.The
house, belonging to 0. A. Ling of 72-63 Paldao in
the Northwood Hills section of Dallas, was foundablaze before dawn by a paper boy.
The brick home
was almost ready for occupancy. Fire Investigator
D. G. Dabbs said the fire apparently began in the
living room, and spread from there to the basementand attic.
The electricity was not yet connected,
and firemen have been say what caused the
fire. Damage is put at 35-thousand dollars, whichitis nearly the house's full value.
Only the bricks
are considered salvageable. Homeowner Ling had
planned to move into his new quarters late this week.GUY LAYING BRICK
Fire or no fire, Silva keeps laying brick.
He says
the contractor advised him to finish his job since
his materials are ready for use -- and since the
home probably will be rebuilt immediately.1 :05
