The main considerations influencing the determination of the farmstead site are its location with respect to the rest of the farm and to public utilities, the elevation and drainage of the proposed site, the available water supply, the nature of the soil, the relation to the points of the compass, and the prevailing breezes and protection from heat and cold." -- p. 2
