It's the 1958 Home Show, at the Fair Park in Dallas --
held for the first time in the automobile building.
250-exhibits, most of them o build up the home, and
tear down the back account. But that's progress.
What's a home show without a lazy man's weight reducer,
an non-overweight attendant to show it off.
To officially open the Home Show, the golden key is
given to the show's queen, 19-year old Andra Reed, a
freshman at Southern Methodist University.
Richardson Mayor R. V. Thompson speaks a word or two of
welcome -- then bids Queen Reed to see if her key fits
the lock. And it does.
Almost everything is in plain sight -- but some folks
just have to see what makes it tick.
